Welcome!
I’m Karen Liptak, a native New Yorker currently living in Tucson, Arizona. I’ve authored many nonfiction books, mainly for children and young adults. I’ve also been a filmmaker, an editorial director, and a guide at Kitt Peak National Observatory (KPNO). At KPNO, I tried to make astrophysics easy, meaningful, and fun for visitors. I told them to keep an open mind, because scientists only know 5% of what exists. New discoveries could change reality in a flash!
I said such things because I had a cosmic breakthrough on April 8, 1976. I heard “Move on” in a sudden gust of wind that took me mentally from my Manhattan apartment to where I knew we’re all one energy, history is ending, I’d write for the world to come, and other seemingly fantastic things! And yet, I felt awakened from a dream by a force more loving and wise than anyone or thing I’d ever known.
Since then, I’ve been learning to think and write with a cosmic perspective. My books The Messenger & The Skeptic, and Quarry Face, and my cosmic poetry are attempts to bring that perspective to you. Perhaps they will awaken your consciousness to the possibility that we’re not alone, world stories can change, and there’s a new promised land in your mind. It’s a higher mental plateau, a cosmic meeting place for the evolving branch of the human race.
